Dr. Hemstreet is a North Carolina native and a proud graduate of North Carolina State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine (Go Wolfpack!). She has a passion for animal welfare and is a strong believer in the One Health Principle that human, animal, and environmental health are tightly interconnected. Dr. Hemstreet’s professional interests include dentistry, dermatology, and preventive medicine, but most of all, she enjoys building relationships with both her clients and their furry companions.
In her free time, Dr. Hemstreet and her husband, Michael, love spending time with their son exploring Charlotte with their silly Basset hound, Louie. She enjoys yoga, reading, and her most guilty pleasure – reality tv shows. She is excited to serve the Mountain Island community and looks forward to making a positive impact on the lives of pets and their families.
